VISUAL JAZZ

I wanted to pay respect to a few of the Jazz Icons of the 20th Century. Some are my favorites, some aren’t. That hardly matters! They are all important to the history of the music.

I have tried to portray them as I feel their audiences might have viewed them, whether during a performance or in an unguarded moment.

All these artists were internationally known..…Jimmy Pepper, lived, and ended his days, in Portland, Oregon.

As I painted (swore and repainted ) these pieces, I only hoped that if, perchance, any of these artists came back and viewed their portraits, that they would smile and say ”Solid!” to what I’ve done.
