SCULPTURES

Bill is famous on the West Coast for his beautiful masks that are evocative of African and other cultural traditions with modern perspectives. The masks are carved of solid wood, simply finished or adorned with materials to enhance or complete their statement.

Bill's sculptural work reflects his fascination with the human and animal form. The materials vary from solid cuts of wood to soldered wire, clay, metal and paper over wire armature or bits of bone, bamboo or other materials than happen to be at hand.
